Stat locks are a game changer. They hold the catheter tube in place so that they don’t get pulled, ripped out, tangled in clothing, etc. It can also be damaging to your urethra. I didn’t have one for the first few weeks and I accidentally snagged my tube on my pants and ripped a stitch out that was holding it in place in my belly. I found the locks with the clip (seen below) to be more efficient than the cheaper fabric/velcro stat locks.
WARNING: the “remove with alcohol” text is not a suggestion. It’s incredibly painful and damaging to remove the stat lock any other way. I found rubbing alcohol pads while simultaneously gently pulling the patch away from the skin worked best. Doing it right after a shower also seemed to help.
